Hypnotherapy is similar to day-dreaming or meditation. The person experiencing hypnotherapy remains in control and is aware of their surroundings, whilst being able to access a relaxed yet focused state of mind.
In this relaxed state of mind we are able to divide our personality into different ‘parts’. These parts govern the choices we make often resulting in conflicting behaviours. For example, one part wants to loose weight, whilst the other wants to eat what ever you want. We find all of the parts of our psyches have positive intentions. Problems occur when the parts have opposing agendas. We all have parts like the inner critic; the abandoned child, the pleaser, the angry part and the loving caretaker.
By using Hypnotherapy, we can assist the client to have a more balanced and cohesive mind. We welcome all our parts with curiosity and compassion. We seek to understand them and their individual agendas, through developing a relationship of trust and cooperation with each part.
