Annie Loughnan is a Shiatsu Practitioner and Kinesiologist inspired by the gifts of nature.
- Her treatments resonate with the relationship we all have with nature.
- Our connection with our own inner and outer world is in constant reflection.
- The shape, form and feeling of our bodies can often be viewed as conscious or unconscious responses to patterns and beliefs that over time deplete, depress, and de- energise the body’s vitality store.
- Annie is a passionate practitioner who sees problems as powerful tools for learning. Working with the person to unmask and rediscover choices and beliefs that promote confidence, energy and fulfilment.
Annie is committed to educating her clients as much as treating them, so they are more able to care for themselves, trust their innate knowing and feel more vibrancy and health.
Remembering Our Connection to Nature
As a kid she enjoyed climbing trees to soak up the view, feel the wind blowing in the branches, enjoy time for reflection, embraced by strength, creativity and immense beauty. To be in their presence was to awaken every cell and be reminded of our shared existence.
Our Life is in some ways similar to a tree. We seek to establish a solid foundation to grow, to be nourished, stimulated and supported. So we can branch out with our own individuality, creativity and beauty. The conditions we find ourselves may not always be conducive but our core vitality is always budding to grow. For true growth to then occur we need to discover our shinning light. Feel connected, energised, seek to learn growth and share the quirky and beautiful parts of the self. We need to prune, weed, nourish, and develop connections that allow us to stretch far beyond limited beliefs to life a full abundant life.
Getting Started
In 1982 Annie completed her Assoc Dip Outdoor Education. She then pursued an adventurous and rewarding career as an Outdoor Education Instructor in many states ofAustralia and in theUK.
- Annie worked at Mittagundi a non profit organisation that provided the opportunity for disadvantaged kids to spend nine days living, working and enjoying outdoor activities in the mountains.
- The impact of seeing these young people’s energy and spirit shift during their time in the bush, breathing in clean air, drinking fresh water and eating nourishing food was a clear indication for Annie of the importance of natures balance. This was the catalyst for pursuing study into alternative therapies, food as medicine, yoga, and many other explorations and adventures over the years.
Annie is a valued member of Fitzroy Therapeutics & Botanical Emporium’s Kinesiology and Shiatsu Team.
